INVEST Fair 2026 Expands to Three Halls, Expects 20,000 Visitors

Three years ago, the INVEST Fair fit into one hall. This July, it needs three. Organisers ShareInvestor Malaysia Sdn Bhd have booked Halls 1, 2 and 3 at the Mid Valley Exhibition Centre for the 18-19 July event.

They expect 20,000 visitors. That is roughly double what a single hall could comfortably hold.

Something is shifting in Malaysian retail finance. The fair started small. It was a niche gathering for people who already knew the difference between a REIT and a bond.

But the 2026 edition signals a broader turn. Early findings, organisers say, show a sustained increase in retail investor interest across the country.

The fair is simply following the demand. Bursa Malaysia CEO Dato’ Fad’l Mohamed will be there as Guest-of-Honour. That is a sign too.

When the stock exchange chief opens a retail investor fair, it means the market sees the crowd as serious. The programme is built around the theme “Money. Finance.

Technology.” More than 100 speakers and 40 exhibiting organisations will deliver over 70 hours of talks and panel discussions. The topics run from equities, ETFs, REITs, bonds and sukuk — the conventional toolkit — to sustainability investing, AI-related innovation and green finance instruments.

The fair is no longer just about picking stocks. A new segment called Duit Fest debuts this year. It focuses on practical personal finance and everyday money habits.

Organisers say they created it because people are asking for accessible, real-world guidance. Not everyone wants to hear about derivatives.

Some just want to know how to budget, save, and avoid bad debt. The fair is explicitly not a sales pitch. It is designed as an educational platform.

Visitors are told to talk to the experts on site before making any investment decisions. The organisers have also structured the schedule so that people who can only attend one day still get a coherent experience. There will be prizes and a lucky draw.

But the real draw is the breadth. A visitor can walk from a session on green sukuk straight into a talk about AI trading tools.

That mix — old instruments, new technology, practical money habits — reflects where Malaysian retail finance is heading. Malaysia has seen a surge in new brokerage accounts since the pandemic. The INVEST Fair started before that wave, but it is now riding it.

The expansion to three halls is not just a logistical choice. It is a statement that the organisers believe the interest will hold.

The fair runs 18-19 July. The halls will be full. The question is whether the 20,000 visitors will keep coming back.

If the trend holds, next year might need a fourth hall.
