KINGSTON, September 10 — Kingston is making its pitch to be the destination of choice for Heroes Weekend 2026, with organisers unveiling Greatness Weekend 2026, a four-day series of events running from October 16 to 19. The weekend is being billed as “Kingston’s Official Party Weekend” and is backed by the “I Choose Kingston” campaign, an initiative encouraging Jamaicans, the diaspora and international visitors to choose the capital for Heroes Weekend — staying in the city, dining locally, exploring attractions and experiencing four distinct events across one long weekend.

The series opens on Friday, October 16, with PCF: Pool Cooler Fete, which marks its tenth anniversary with the South Beach Edition. The milestone staging reimagines PCF’s signature poolside experience with a “South Beach” theme, while PCF VIP will be food inclusive.

Promoter Curtis Hyatt said the anniversary demonstrates the staying power of the home-grown brand. “Ten years of PCF represents 10 years of building an experience that people continue to choose,” he said.

“South Beach gives us an opportunity to refresh that experience while maintaining the energy and identity our patrons know and love.” On Saturday, October 17, RECALL: Throwback Festival also celebrates its tenth anniversary, with “Straight Jeans & Fitted.” Built around the music, fashion and party culture of the 1990s and 2000s, RECALL transforms nostalgia into an immersive throwback experience. Promoter Fabian O’Hara said the event is about recreating the feeling of an unforgettable era.

“RECALL is more than playing ‘old’ music,” he said. “It’s the fashion, the dancing, the songs you know word for word and the energy of an era when people came to a party to genuinely enjoy themselves. Ten years later, that connection is still there.”

A refined turn, then the finale

The weekend takes a refined turn on Sunday, October 18, with CUPS: Château Blanc, a premium blue-and-white breakfast party. The food-inclusive experience will combine breakfast, entertainment and CUPS’ signature party culture within an elevated château-inspired setting. Promoter Tamark Bailey said the new concept signals the continued evolution of the brand.

“Château Blanc takes CUPS into a different space; premium, stylish and intentional, while still maintaining the energy people expect from us,” said Bailey. “It’s a fresh experience, and we’re excited to introduce it for Greatness Weekend.” The series culminates on Heroes Day, Monday, October 19, with the Greatness Pink & White Brunch, a premium food-inclusive experience bringing together cuisine, entertainment, fashion and lifestyle.

For Larone Brown, promoter of the brunch and CEO of Greatness Group, the vision for Greatness Weekend extends beyond the individual events. “Kingston is the mecca of Jamaican entertainment,” he said. “‘I Choose Kingston’ is our invitation for people to come into the city, stay here, eat here, support local businesses and experience four quality Jamaican events in one weekend.

Our vision is for Heroes Weekend in Kingston to become something people plan and travel for.”

Beyond the party

Beyond entertainment, Greatness Weekend forms part of a wider ecosystem that creates opportunities across accommodation, transportation, food and beverage, event production, security, entertainment, creative services, vendors, and other micro, small and medium-sized businesses. Heroes Weekend in Jamaica is observed annually around National Heroes Day, which falls on the third Monday in October. In 2026, National Heroes Day is October 19.

Greatness Weekend 2026 is organised by Greatness Group, with Larone Brown as CEO. The event series is promoted by Curtis Hyatt for PCF, Fabian O’Hara for RECALL, Tamark Bailey for CUPS and Larone Brown for the Greatness Pink & White Brunch.

What to watch next is whether the “I Choose Kingston” message translates into bookings for the capital across the long weekend, and whether the tenth-anniversary stagings of PCF and RECALL draw the diaspora and international visitors the campaign is courting.
